His portrayal as a man trapped between doing the right thing and the thing he wants to do is the central theme of the movie played out against the backdrops of business, family and death.

The supporting cast was excellent as a collection of family and friends caught in much of the same dilemma as Matt, but coming to terms with it in far different ways. Special mention to the ever interesting Robert Forster and Beau Bridges (and those decadent eyebrows).

A special word about the King family. The trailer would leave us to believe that the two children are spoiled rotten offspring. In fact, they love their father and rally to his support when needed. Even the elder daughter's stoner boyfriend ends up as an important aspect of Matt's trip to resolve his "dilemma".

Finally, a word about George Clooney's award-nominated performance. Mr. Clooney is that odd kind of actor that everyone knows gives good performances, but that is probably discounted because he is a bit too cute. Perhaps that is why we're so comfortable with him blowing things up and being a tongue-in-cheek tough guy in the movies. 銆銆Jack Campbell, a successful and talented businessman, is happily living his single and busy life. He has everything, he thinks. One day he wakes up in a new life where he didn't leave his college girlfriend for a London trip. He's married to Kate, lives in Jersey and has two kids. He, of course, desperately wants his life back which he has worked 13 years for, rather than works as a tire salesman at Big Ed's. And most importantly he doesn't want to wake up in the morning with kids jumping on the bed. However, as time goes by, day by day he's more confident with his new life and starts to find out what he once ignored, turning out money's good to have but that's not everything.
銆銆During the whole film, what impresses me most is the lovely girl, who figures out that her father has changed into someone completely strange. Though she is scared ,she still wants to defend her brother against the 鈥渁lien鈥. She is so smart and brave ,and we must admit that children are adorable spirits of sensitivity and imagination.
銆銆At the end of the film, Jack goes back to his original life, making every effort to retain his love. According to the usual mode of films, it鈥檚 not difficult for us to infer the old-fashioned ending-----prince finds his true love and live a happy life with the princess. What a beautiful fairy tale.
銆銆However, to be honest, I don鈥檛 endorse this movie. Well,"The unexamined life is not worth living." Brett Ratner puts this theme into The Family Man, but neither of the parallel lives led by the main character is shown to be flawless, I think. I would rather take them as two different indivials after they make their choices. Choice can change one鈥檚 life ,environment can grind one鈥檚 edges and corners, failure can kill one鈥檚 will ,but what they cannot change is the character of a person. This character, or nature, is formed after our childhood. So I don鈥檛 want to judge the lives of two Jack which is better. I just want to say,

銆銆Original Jack ,as he said, makes perfect plans to everything, never doubts, never regrets. He is satisfied with his life, working hard without any loneliness. But he is thrown into another world, which is full of daily trifles. He is shown to another Jack鈥檚 memories, photos, videos, forced to received other鈥檚 life style. He , as well as us ,is brainwashed into believing that the man should have been like this. But why? Who prescribed? Because it accords with the warm imagination of the majority ? Isn鈥檛 it unfair to him?
銆銆At the beginning of the movie, the successful Jack is still single after many years. Can鈥檛 he even find a woman to marry except Kate? In the view of his status and capability, it鈥檚 impossible. It just shows a fact that he doesn鈥檛 want to get married, starting from the airport. Compared to love others, he prefers wealth, status, freedom, all the time.
銆銆This is the first Jack, an out-and-out businessman ,maybe he is indifferent, but he is successful.
銆銆Well, there is another part in the Parallel world makes me feel ridiculous. Jack managed to get executive position through his eloquence and confidence from his previous boss. He looked forward to a better life together with his family, while Kate started to brainwash, saying I can scarified everything -----the house, good school for children , brilliant career, just because of love, as if their life would have been totally destroyed by a superior apartment.
銆銆Every one has his limit of ability, and it鈥檚 happiness to recognize it and satisfy. But when you have the ability to enjoy a cozy life, you insist stay in the slums. This not called happiness.
銆銆I feel sorrowful. We all have dreams, why is it noble only when the dream is about love and family, why not career? Even somebody may have sympathy to the first Jack: you are certainly wealthy and capable, but you lack friendship, love and family. You can just own one-night stand instead of a wife. Haha~ In fact ,Jack has his daily circle and life style----delicious food, wonderful trip, beautiful girls, and most important, career. I can鈥檛 understand ,why happy life must be ordinary. This is another hidden rule imposed on our mind: the rich know nothing about love and happiness. Ordinary happiness of family life is destined to be destroyed by great ability of work. But that is not a truth, not necessarily.

Film Review of Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice is a famous classic written by Jane Austen. I was attracted by the characters and plots of the film adapted from the novel.

Elizabeth is the heroine of the story. When she meets Darcy, a handsome, rich but arrogant man, on the party for the first time, she is dissatisfied with the proud manner of Darcy. Darcy looks down on those who are in a lower social class,including Elizabeth. However, after getting to know the courage, independence and confidence of Elizabeth, he almost falls in love with her. But Elizabeth believes the lies of Wickham which causes her great prejudice to Darcy. She rejects Darcy』s propose marriage to protect her self-respect. Finally, Darcy goes away because he couldn』t tolerate Elizabeth』s sisters』 vulgar manners. He writes a long letter to explain his thoughts and love to Elizabeth. After reading it, Elizabeth feels guilty about misjudging Darcy and regrets turning him down. As time goes away, Darcy graally improves his pride and keeps helping Elizabeth』s family out from troubles. At last, Elizabeth removes the prejudice to Darcy and accepts his propose marriage.

From the film I learn that we can』t judge a man immediately by the first impression. If we are controlled by our subjective senses, it will easy cause prejudice and misunderstanding and probably influent the developments of many events. A review of the Pursuit of Happiness

「The Pursuit of Happyness」 was released on the 15th of December 2006. It is a dramatic story based on a biography of Chris Gardner』s nearly one-year struggle with homelessness. Directed by Gabrielle Muccino, the film stars Will Smith as Chris Gardner, and co-stars Jaden Smith playing Chris』 son, Christopher Jr. For Will Smith』s performance in the film, he was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Actor. The 『different』 spelling of the title, 『Happyness』 is seen by Chris Gardner on the building outside the play centre is son attends, which Chris reminds the owners of the building multiple times that it is spelt with an 『I』.

The film shows us the struggles Chris Gardner has with homelessness. He is bankrupt because he invested his life savings in portable bone-density scanners, which he thought hospitals would be interested in buying, but in the end hardly any doctors wanted one, as they considered it an 『expensive luxury』. During the struggles, his wife Linda leaves to go to New York and Chris and his son are left in San Francisco with no income and living in a motel. Chris sees interest in become a stockbroker, but to become one he has to go through an internship. Meanwhile, Chris and his son are evicted because they can』t pay rent, and they are forced to go to a homeless shelter, and even one night had to sleep in the bathroom of the underground rail system. During his internship, he never once mentions his financial struggles and at one point he is asked to give one of his bosses 5 dollars for a cab, a sum that he can』t afford. After an intense six months, Chris is taken into the bosses』 office, and is offered a job as a stockbroker, the final scene shows him being in unbelief of the position he was offered and showing his happiness and gratefulness for the opportunity, Chris realises that his financial struggles are over as he now has a job with a regular income.

Christ was unfortunate, for he got a wife who was not understandable at all (though she has her own difficulties) and was in bad luck with his business. But he was very fortunate also, for he got a son who was very thoughtful and, I think, tough life experiences always make a great person. It is said that this movie is inspired by a true story, and I want to say, this movie does inspire me a lot. What impressed me most are: Christ』s wife left him because of life pressure; Christ』s love to his son and Christ』s strong belief towards life. Through these, I know that it is not easy to be a good husband and a good Papa, since in reality, only love cannot only make everything. And I also learn that one has to strongly believe in himself, no matter how difficult the situation is, but of course, hard-working is indispensable.
