1967年的美國片。
60年代的美國，反戰潮流，民權運動，越南戰爭。
動盪的社會，必然存在著不知所措的迷茫。
少年的青春期，其實也是一場漫長的戰爭。
從一個聽任父母擺布，不知所措的畢業生，到和半老徐娘私會；從一場亂倫的墮落，到對真愛的執著；從拿著優異成績卻依然膽怯拘謹的男孩，到拉著差點成他人妻的女孩在公路上賓士的男人。
從縮頭縮尾，到無所顧忌。
從茫然，到篤定。
這就是我們的畢業生，成長的過程。
腦海里揮之不去的，是本戴著潛水鏡，潛入水底的那一幕。
充滿頌揚和鼓勵，獨獨缺少理解的世界，在倒入水中的那一剎，一切聲音瞬間退卻，安靜得只剩下自己的呼吸。呼，吸，呼，吸——沒有滿眼攢動的人群，沒有刺目的陽光，只有泛著藍光的水，和自己。
而自己，在那倒入水的一剎那，似乎所有的擔憂和負擔，也被那水面過濾而去。
躲在水底，享受著那短暫的簡單和寧靜。
可潛水只能是一種逃亡。水底世界無論再怎麼安靜，總歸還是要浮出水面，回歸塵土的擁抱。
所以，本幾乎是倒入泳池的水裡。而非躍。在那一個緩慢而短暫的動作里，卻承載著一個畢業生所有的無奈，迷茫，憂慮和傷感。
在遇到Mrs Robinson之後，本更加茫然。
"Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to sece me"
"Would you like me to sece you? Is that what you're trying to tell me?"
這段經典台詞，以及攝像機透過Mrs. Robinson,的大腿間利用錯位展現給我們慌張的本那一幕，在此後被眾人引用。
這個青年不知道到底是該拒絕，還是該接受，來自一個半老徐娘的誘惑。
亂倫後的他，在黑暗中的房間，在水上的充氣墊，鬱郁寡歡，陷在一種天旋地轉的墮落里欲罷不能。

可我卻覺得，她其實很可憐。
她在黑暗中告訴本自己其實不喜歡藝術，可專業卻就是藝術。看到她說起夢想時那種厭棄而絕望的表情，我想起自己以前也常常問那些已經工作的人，他們年輕時的夢想，是否始終堅持。很多人都沒有正面回答過我。其實我也知夢想這種事情，並不是你堅持了，就能實現的。路有很多條，卻並非真的每一條都能通往羅馬。走錯了，就是另一個終點。歲月揉皺人的面容，碾碎人的夢想。
她其實也很迷茫吧。她比本年長，卻並不比他有力。她和本之間，沒有感情，只有肉體關系。她只是想證明，自己還年輕，而和本的對比，也讓自己顯得比較有掌控力。
只是在那樣一個年代，有誰是始終清清楚楚，對自己的未來信心滿懷呢。
她和他一樣茫然。一樣無知。
所有的陽光，只有在最後那段本拉著伊琳奔出禮堂，在眾目睽睽下跳上公車，氣喘吁吁過後的平靜對視這一段時，才顯得柔和而寧靜。
沒有熱情相吻，沒有激動流淚，只有平靜的對視。
這象徵著一切，終於變得有盼頭。沒有激流對撞的尖銳，沒有耳語摩挲的沉重。一切回歸平靜，穩定。
沒有給我們更長遠的故事。一切仍伴著《The Sound Of Silence》結束。
只是，這兩個不管不顧，做回自我的年輕人，又該如何繼續他們的青春。
畢業生，象徵的，只是問題的層層撲來。
