影響
以上是希波克拉底誓言，為每一個醫學生步入醫師所宣的誓言。流傳約2000多年的確定醫生對病人、對社會的責任及醫生行為規范的誓言，以希波克拉底的名字命名，希波克拉底是公元前5～前4世紀著名的希臘醫生，希波克拉底被西方尊為"醫學之父".。這一誓言很可能在希波克拉底之前已經在醫生中代代相傳，以口頭的形式存在，希波克拉底也許是第一個把這一誓言用文學記錄了下來的人。這一誓言中有封建行會及迷信的色彩,但其基本精神被視為醫生行為規范,沿用了2000多年。直到今日，在很多國家很多醫生就業時還必須按此誓言宣誓。
在希波克拉底後，也有一些古代的醫學家就醫生的職業道德發表過重要的論著，某些方面還有自己的獨到之處，但就影響的廣度及深度而言，都不如希波克拉底誓言。
