My favorite cartoon is Tom and Jerry .The cartoon is about a never-ending rivalry between a cat (Tom) and a mouse (Jerry) .Tom hardly succeeds in catching Jerry, mainly because of Jerry's luck .However, they still can make peace with each other in some cases .
Tom is a Blue Cat ,it has a warm home to stay and enough food to eat .But Tom still wants to catch Jerry .Jerry is the mouse that lives together with Tom .Though they have lived together for many years ,they still can't stop fighting.
We can sense the happiness from Tom and Jerry .
I like Tom and Jerry best .
Tom and Jerry is a series of animated theatrical shorts created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer that centered on a never-ending rivalry between a housecat (Tom) and a mouse (Jerry) whose chases and battles often involved comic violence. Hanna and Barbera ultimately wrote and directed one hundred and fourteen Tom and Jerry cartoons at the MGM cartoon studio in Hollywood, California between 1940 and 1958, when the animation unit was closed. The original series is notable for having won the Academy Awards for Best Short Subject (Cartoons) seven times, tying it with Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies as the theatrical animated series with the most Oscars. Tom and Jerry has a worldwide audience that consists of both children and alts, and has also been remembered as one of the most famous and longest-lived rivalries in American cinema. In 2000, TIME named the series one of the greatest television shows of all time.Beginning in 1960, in addition to the originals MGM had new shorts proced by Rembrandt Films, led by Gene Deitch in Eastern Europe. Proction of Tom and Jerry shorts returned to Hollywood under Chuck Jones's Sib-Tower 12 Proctions in 1963; this series lasted until 1967, making it a total of 161 shorts.
Tom and Jerry have chased each other to the top of a poll about which cartoon stars alts most enjoyed. The Hanna-Barbera o - the stars of 161 cartoons from 1940 and winners of seven Oscars - beat the likes of Scooby-Doo, Top Cat and The Flinstones. The survey of 1,000 alts aged between 25 and 54 was concted on behalf of children's TV channel Boomerang. "Animals with human characteristics are an unbeatable combination," channel manager Dan Balaam said. He said that animal characters had proved most popular in the survey. "The shows are incredibly inventive and witty with an endless stream of gags, which is why they appeal to all ages. "The only humans in the list are in the form of The Flinstones, Popeye and The Wacky Races." Scooby-Doo, launched in 1969 and recently made into a live-action movie starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, came second. Eye-patch wearing secret agent Dangermouse, who made his debut on ITV in 1981, made it to third place. The James Bond parody - with David Jason voicing Dangermouse and Terry Scott as his sidekick Penfold - is the only UK proction on the list. It was made by Manchester-based proction house Cosgrove Hall. Another Hanna-Barbera creation, Top Cat - the leader of a gang of New York alley cats - came fourth. His adventures, based on 1950s US comedy, The Phil Silvers Show, were transmitted as Boss Cat in the UK to avoid confusion with a brand of cat food.
