2012 is a 2009 disaster film directed by Roland Emmerich. The film stars John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amanda Peet, Oliver Platt, Danny Glover, Thandie Newton and Woody Harrelson. It was distributed by Columbia Pictures. Filming began in August 2008 in Vancouver.
The film briefly references Mayanism, the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, and the 2012 phenomenon in its portrayal of cataclysmic events unfolding in the year 2012. Because of solar flare bombardment the Earth's core begins heating up at an unprecedented rate, eventually causing crustal displacement. This results in an onslaught of Doomsday event scenarios plunging the world into chaos, ranging from California falling into the Pacific Ocean, the eruption of the Yellowstone National Park caldera, massive earthquakes, and Megatsunami impacts along every coast line on the Earth. The film centers around an ensemble cast of characters as they narrowly escape multiple catastrophes in an effort to reach ships in the Himalayas, along with scientists and governments of the world who are attempting to save as many lives as they can before the disasters ensue.
I think,it will be, for its audiences, one of the most satisfactory films of the year and it really can be called the "mother of all disaster movies".

So what's your choice between being a common person or a hero with people's respects? Most people will choose the latter. But what will be your choice if the cost is laying your lover among the risks? What will it be if the cost is you can never tell the girl, who you love so much, that you love her? The spider man had this contradiction. But finally he still chose the latter, not in order to be a hero, but to make this word peaceful.

I was so moved by the words the Aunt Mary said:

You will never guess what he wants to be, the spider man. He knows the hero when he sees one, too a few characters out there, flying all around out there, saving old girls like me. Lord knows kids like Henry need hero courageous, sacrificing for people, setting examples for all of us. Everybody loves a hero. People enthrone them, cheer them, scream their names and years later they will tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse the one who taught them to hold on to stand longer. I believe there is a hero in all of us. They keep us be honest, give us strength, make us noble, and finally allow us to die with proud. Ever though sometimes we have to initiatively give up the thing we want most, even our dreams. Spider man did that for Henry, so he wants to know where he is gone. He needs him.

The world is ending in a matter of hours, yet justice and humanity don』t penetrate through the brain-shells of politicians. In order to save their own lives, the government officials keep the secret from the rest of human kind and also lets the man whose knowledge saves their lives die. This is the premise of 2012.

But if the viewer is a Tibetan or someone who is aware of the Tibetan culture and the sensitivities of Tibetan issue, one could feel that the justice and humanity are not occurred in the director』s thought either.

There is a scene long enough to mention that takes place in Tibet. In fact the last human beings die there and the new seed of the future human race starts at the neck of Mount Everest, 「The People』s Republic of China」 the movie calls it. Perhaps what no movie reviewer noticed or saw the importance of mentioning is that the prophetic fictitious story of the movie not only makes a statement that Tibet is completely a part of China, but also it totally misrepresents the core culture of Tibetan people. A Tibetan woman killing animals in Tibet is taboo, it never happened except ring the Cultural Revolution when some women were forced to do so. Women killing chickens in the Chinese market is an everyday event, but a Tibetan woman killing a CHICKEN reflects the director』s cultural ignorance and it makes the movie even more ridiculous.

And in real life ethically speaking, Mr. Emmerich failed to hire Tibetan actors who can speak their own language. All the actors who play Tibetan characters are Chinese very poorly pretending to be Tibetans. Their Tibetan is hundred times worse than Zhang Yi』s memorized English or Leonardo DiCaprio』s Swahili (well I can imagine!).

In an attempt to hold his family together and help his son survive the horrors of a Jewish Concentration Camp, Guido imagines that the Holocaust is a game and that the grand prize for winning is a tank. 2.The film starts in the 1930s when Guido relocates from the country to a large Tuscan town where he falls in love with schoolteacher Dora. She is already engaged to another guy, but Guido stills fights for her. The story continues 5 years later, ring wartime, Guido is married to Dora and they have a son called Giosue. Guido is of Jewish origin, and he is sent to a concentration camp with Giosue and Dora follows them, only to be sent to another part of the camp.

Synopsis In the early 40s Shanghai, Bai Lisu, a divorcee, is staying with her own family. Yet it is a place of gossip and she is desperate to escape.

Mrs. Xu, the matchmaker, arranges for Bai』s sister to have a blind date with Fan Liuyuan, a playboy just back from overseas. Bai accompanies her sister to meet Fan but it truns out that fan falls for . After their first encounter, Fan asks Mrs. Xu to invite Bai to come to Hong Kong ot meet him. Bai agrees right away, ignoring all the gossip about her.

The Repulse Bay Hotel becomes a place for tug-of-war between Fan and Bai. They get along well one day but then are at odds on another. He is being kind not only to her but also other women.

Bai knows that if this tug-of-war lingers on,, she may lose the battle completely. She decides to return to Shanghai. Not long after, Fan waits for Bai to arrive at the pier in Hong Kong. He gives her a 「home」 but she still does not get the 「status」 of being married.

When the Japanese troops are bombing the Hong Kong Island, Bai and Fan are separated. When Fan rushes back to the house and finds Bai waiting for him there, they then know that treasure each other so much. Fan then proposes to Bai and They plan to get married right after the war is over.

香港的淺水灣酒店成為范柳原與白流蘇拉鋸的情場。范柳原對白流蘇忽冷忽熱，而且還不獨對她好，同時也對另外的女子一視同仁，令白流蘇難以適應。
