創作背景：

1992年，惠特妮·休斯頓因為要和凱文·科斯特納聯袂主演電影《保鏢》，所以開始尋找合適的電影主題曲。凱文·科斯特納推薦她使用琳達·朗絲黛在1975年翻唱的《I Will Always Love You》，於是惠特尼·休斯頓在聽完後，立即決定與製作人大衛·福斯特一起將這首歌曲重新編配，並使它的風格更接近美國黑人的靈魂樂歌謠。
