The Review of Braveheart

I am deeply impressed by William Wallace’s courage and the efforts that the Scottish created to resume soverienty.It reminds me of my dream.Dream,whatever it is,really should be pursued heart and soul.Compared to Wallace,I am so lazy and passive.I watched it,giving free outlet to my thoughts and tears.

There are two scenes over which I really feel melancholy.The initial is when Meilun is buried. The same point happened when Wallace was yong,weeping at the death of his father.Tiny Meilun sent him a purple thistle .to console his sorrow.Even so,Meilun is dead now,no a single would send him a purple thist any much more.He has only himself in this world following losing the two persons he loves most.The second one particular is the very first war against England in the battlefield.,in which they were much weaker in regard to weapons and numbers.Confronted with immense difficulties,they had been not afaid,thinking we would drop.Instead,they fighted bravely and confidently.

Life will not usually be what we want. Wallace’s father died when he was a small boy.He did not want this tragedy transpire but it did take place,so he had to accept it；when his uncle came and would part him with his hometown,he obeyed with reluctance；moreover,his heart was broken facing the death of Meilan,but he had to accept it and be strong.Adversity leads to prosperity on situation that we can turn sorrow into strength.

Much as what is stated above,courage alone won’t guarantee success.Wallace’s uncle informed him :”you have to find out to use your thoughts,then weapons.”Being flexiable and conscious is even more critical,that is to say ,you know how to obtain your goal prior to you take actions.Additionally,it is worth notifying that pals are also extremely important in the pursue of dream.A life devoid of a pal is a life with out a sun.Wallace has Hamiss,who accompanied him to the end.

"The Promise" is this year's big-budget Chinese martial arts lollapalooza; in fact, it's said to be the most expensive movie ever shot in China. It follows hard on "House of Flying Daggers," "Hero," "The Emperor and the Assassin" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and, in their style, is full of colorful kung fu gymnastics, magical landscapes, yards of billowing robes and weird hats.

《危情时速》：另一种形式的丰满
动作片上映，尤其是特尼-斯科特这种擅长拍摄速度感极强的动作片的导演的作品，通常都被扣上“剧情单薄”的帽子。其实，类型片总有类型化后的目的，就实现目的的程度来看，《危情时速》的剧本可算是丰满至极。诚然，在两列火车会车、1206火车头与777车位衔接、列车通过高架弯道这些段落，导演是利用纯粹的剪辑技法和拍摄技法来营造最屏气凝神的紧张感，但是观众之所以能够在特定段落提前进入屏气凝神的状态和心境，却是与剧本上的扎实分不开的。
此片的剧本让我想起了两个很经典案例。一个是1957年Sidney Lumet导演，Reginald Rose编剧的《十二怒汉》。记得有一次参加一个编剧的交流会，曾经有人提到了该片。有一位很年轻的女孩儿当时说：“《十二怒汉》的剧情多简单啊，单线索，三段式。”当时在座的所有人下巴都掉地上了。从格局上来看，《十二怒汉》却是是很简陋，96分钟时间里有95分钟都是在同一个屋子里，同样的12个人的对话。如此看来，本片的剧情用“单薄、单一、枯燥”等词来形容一点儿都不为过。可是，本片高明之处，就在于每个角色的个性鲜明，并且通过言语和肢体上的交流，众人的意识和观点发生了渐进性的变化。以表决为标志，很明确地将这种递进的层次感表现了出来。有这种标志和递进感，即便影片是单一的线索，单一的场景，剧情上的张力也依然是层出不穷的。
另一个例子是大家所熟知的《阿凡达》。很多人都惊叹于《阿凡达》的画面表现力，而否定影片的故事的精彩。其实说实话，你回想一下，这部戏根本就没什么废戏。影片里的很多看似很随意的剧情，其实都担负着引出画面表现的任务。换言之，大家能够这么沉浸在影片的画面表现，不是因为影片用画面征服你，而是先设计好圆顺的故事情节，然后才把观众带入到这种画面里来享受的。对比《西风烈》，我们就能明白在画面表现之前做好故事铺垫是多么重要。于是，《阿凡达》的剧本在人物上进行了弱化，在悬念上也进行了弱化，为的就是突出故事上的细节。我们可以看到，影片中屡次出现小起伏和小波折，而每次波折过后就会引出一段或华丽多彩或紧张窒息的视觉段子。
用了这么多话介绍了上面两个例子，就是为了让大家了解到，剧本的编写往往是有一定的目的性的。如果枉顾目的性而执意要在剧本上做文章玩花样，就会让人颇为不理解。只有针对影片的目的采用合适的剧情模式才是最牛的。在这一点上，克里斯托弗-诺兰是最被我所推崇的。回到本片来看，就是故事设计对主题的契合达到了相当高的高度。本片英文片名是“Unstoppable ”，给人一种宿命感。类型为动作惊悚片，主要目的是以惊险的动作场面为观众提供视听上的冲击。
为了实现“Unstoppable”的感觉，我们看到影片并没有从一开始就把两大主演，丹泽尔-华盛顿和克里斯-派恩与“溜车”的777号联系在一起。其实这是稍微有违常规的。影片一共就这么两个大牌，可是这两人在前45分钟里几乎与主线剧情脱离，不仅与777没有关系，还在1206上悠哉悠哉。看似浪费，其实是一个很妙的安排。我们看到，在本片中，火车不是像巴斯特-基顿的《将军号》那样是一个“大道具”，而是一个难以被征服的“野兽”。在整个拯救过程中，并不只是两大主演的英勇表现，而是调动了多种营救方式。这些其它的营救方式是由主角外的其他人实施的。在两大主演发威之前，已经实施四到五种“Stop”计划，均以失败告终。这样反复实为，一来营造了多起紧张刺激的小高潮，二来从一个侧面把777这两列车塑造成了“有血有肉”的终极大Boss，为影片最后的高潮积攒了情绪上的力量。这种安排最让我感到有新意的，是影片去掉了“英雄”。让整个事件看上去更加可信，更加真实。在一场“Unstoppable”的灾难面前，可绝不是天降英雄就能助黎民百姓摆脱死亡阴影的。这样一种形势，在配合上前40分钟对两大主演的淡化描写，就更显出了任务的艰巨，以及最后胜利后带给人的欣慰。这演变成了一场众人合力后，对怪兽的胜利。不过比较令人可惜的是，影片最最后的的解决方式让人稍微有些脱力。前面去英雄化近80分钟，等来的却依旧是克里斯-派恩非常“英雄”的纵身一跃。不给力啊！不给力！
对于惊险的视听冲击，影片在剧情上也进行了极为厚实的辅助工作。大家可以回想一下，影片最给力、最惊险、最刺激的三五场动作戏，哪一场不是在之前的剧情里铺垫了很多次的？影片从一开始出现危机状况开始，以后方操控的三方势力的不断交流中，我们就提前预知了777号一路上可能会遇到的几个危险阶段。之后所有人的努力就是要让危险不出现。于是乎，影迷心中的纠结便一直化不开了，这提及的危险地段，777是能到还是不能到，如果777真的到了，究竟是过得去还是过不去？在心情平静的观影前和观影后，我们的理性会告诉自己，这些危险一定会来，如果不来还有啥看头？这些危险地段777也一定能过去，否则结局如何收尾？但是，当你处于心情不平静的观影中时，谁还能理性地去想这些问题，当时是跟随着剧情的引导去期待这些问题将会以一个什么样的具体画面细节来表现。因此说，动作戏剧本最精彩的地方不在于你设计了什么危险，设计了如何通过危险，而在于你如何引导观众去实现等待危险到来的心情。很显然，《危情时速》在这方面的表现非常出色，甚至比那几段动作戏的惊险效果还出色。
影片能够兼顾高潮段落的惊险刺激和高潮前的逐层铺垫，又能做到小高潮的丰富不间断，就是是先了剧情上的丰满。托尼-斯科特就是好莱坞电影人之所以能够称霸全球最好的例子，人家不求全，不求高深，不求大师称号，就是扎扎实实地为影迷的观影历程着想，不仅要在大高潮小高潮的段落里用凌厉的剪辑和高成本的爆破冲击观众的视听感觉，还要在每一个高潮到来前给你做好心理上的铺垫。这TMD才是好剧本，好导演！

兵临城下英文影评

A gut-wrenching and impressive hide-and-seek thriller that uses the bloody battle of Stalingrad (ring the second World War) as the clever disguise here for a real battle of courage and determination. The film follows a young and highly talented Russian sniper from the Urals, Vassili Zaitsev (Jude Law - "eXistenZ", "The Talented Mr. Ripley"), who gains national fame from the help of Danilov (Joesph Fiennes - "Shakespeare in Love"), a propoganda officer and his true love and fellow sniper, Tania (Rachael Weisz), who is also flirting with Danilov.

However, the Germans have an ace sniper of their own in Erwin Koning (Ed Harris - "Pollock"), a seasoned and out-spoken Major who comes to Stalingrad only to pick off Vassili. And before Koning leaves, his superior officer asks how he'll find Vassili. Koning says, " I'll fix it so he finds me."

The love triangle that director Jean-Jacques Annaud and co-writer Alain Godard put in the story shows that the pair took a chance and I'll give them credit for doing it. Plus, the love scene that Law and Weisz have is one of the strangest (no offense to either one) that I've seen.

The film's best moments come when Vassili tries to catch Koning off guard, but the problem is Koning is aware of what Vassili is capable of. I won't say how it's done, but the final confrontation is a genuine nail-bitter.

All of the performances here are powerhouse and that includes Bob Hoskins as Nikita Kruschev, a snarling and impatient man and Ron Perlman, who portrays Koulikov, a lieutenant whose teeth are all metal and serves as a guide for Vassili.

Robert Frassie ("Ronin") handles the movie's photography with care and the appearrence of Stalingrad itself reminded me heavily of the war-torn cities shown in Spielsburg's "Saving Private Ryan" and Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket". Also, James Horner concts a tender and extremely mournful score that leaves a quiet yet important reminder of how awful war is.

"ENEMY AT THE GATES" is an extrodinary work of raw skill and imagination.
