个人认为：霍比特人好像应该划入人类种族。有意思的是，无论是承担毁掉魔戒的弗鲁多和一直陪伴他的那个小妖怪咕噜，都是霍比特人。和我印证的那个朋友说，霍比特人在原来的语境中可能暗喻天主教会，我觉得在我们的语境中大概能用到“士”或者“知识分子”上。

智慧有魔力，会让人变坏。这是弗鲁多经受的最严重考验，他忍不住喜欢那个东西，虽然最终成功地摧毁了它。这个事情做得对不对鬼知道。好玩的是，在魔戒中当其他人都在外围或者要利用或者要摧毁，只有咕噜真心喜欢那个东西，从头到尾都喜欢。
因为喜欢，刚看到魔戒，咕噜竟然误伤人命；因为喜欢，在山里面风吹雨打变得人不人鬼不鬼还是念念不忘；因为喜欢，最终以身殉葬。直到看到第三集，看到咕噜杀人，才忽然意识到为什么影片中只有咕噜用“宝贝”这个词来指称魔戒。
