创作背景

导演延相昊一直致力于批判现实的动画创作，自2006年起开始撰写以病毒疫情爆发为题的动画《首尔站》。

2015年初，韩国N.E.W.电影公司执行长金宇德看到动画《首尔站》的初剪辑版本后印象深刻，向延相昊提议将该题材动画拍摄成真人电影。在协商下，以不知名病病毒为题材的真人电影《釜山行》诞生 。

剧组在影片开拍前六个月，邀请舞蹈家朴在仁为片中饰演受感染者的演员们作出动作训练指导，展现特别的肢体动作。器材方面，片方使用LED后方投射技术于列车运行画面上的拍摄。

《釜山行》外景拍摄辗转于韩国高速铁路系统KTX沿途多个车站，主要场景位于首尔站、东大邱站、幸信站、揷桥站、与及釜山铁道维修厂。

剧组作多方尝试，使演员流畅演出的同时，亦减少CG加工的需要，在共1800镜头中，只有其中三分之一需要以影厂内绿布景拍摄，配合后期加工。

拍摄期间，剧组的化妆团队每天有20至40名工作人员，12个化妆间全在运作状态中。在大场面时更在清晨至午夜无间断地为近100各饰演感染者的演员们化妆，很多时要用上40分钟才能完成一个精细的妆容。

有人见面就问你，你知道我看的电影凶手是谁么，你怎么回答？你一定大声答复：我特么怎么可能知道，我都不知道你看的什么！这部电影就是那极少数你看了，你推理了，但不看结局你也不可能猜到的侦探推理电影。一切都发生在这列奢华高端往返巴黎至伊斯坦布尔的列车上，人物关系复杂，剧情扑朔迷离，虽说这是一部小说改编电影，但在我看来其表现完全可以与原著比肩。年代久远，绝不过时，缜密推荐。
